This Privacy Policy applies to the QS Transfer App ("the App") provided by toolpad.cc. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how your data is handled.

DATA COLLECTION

The QS Transfer App is designed to prioritize your privacy. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII).

The App does not require account creation, nor does it track your usage or file transfers on remote servers.

We may collect standard, anonymous app installation and crash analytics as provided by default through the Google Play Store console to help us improve the app.

PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED

To function correctly, the App requires certain on-device permissions. Here is why we need them and how they are used:

• Camera: Required exclusively to scan QR codes and receive data visually. The camera feed is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted over the internet or saved to our servers.
• Microphone: Required to receive data via audio signals (sound waves). Audio is processed locally in real-time to decode data and is neither recorded, saved, nor uploaded anywhere.
• Storage: Required to save the files you receive. Received files are saved locally to your device's Downloads directory (or similar public storage). We do not access, scan, or upload any of your personal files.

We only request these permissions when they are actively needed for a specific transfer feature.

ADVERTISING

The App may display advertisements provided by third-party ad networks (such as Google AdMob). These networks may collect non-personal data or use advertising IDs to serve relevant ads. You can manage your ad tracking preferences in your device's system settings.

YOUR DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS (GDPR & CCPA)

Because we do not collect or store any personal data, there is no data of yours for us to access, rectify, or erase on our servers. However, we fully support and comply with data protection regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to Access & Deletion: You have the right to request access to or deletion of your data. Since all app data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise this right at any time simply by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the QS Transfer App.
• Do Not Sell My Personal Information (CCPA): We have never sold, and will never sell, your personal information to third parties.
• Consent (GDPR): For any third-party services (like advertising networks), consent is managed through your device's built-in privacy and tracking controls.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY (COPPA)

Our App is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that personal information of a child under 13 has been collected by our systems, we will take immediate steps to delete such information.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The App relies on system-level services and standard libraries for functionality. None of these are used by us to collect personal data, but you are subject to the privacy policies of your device's operating system (e.g., Google for Android).

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By downloading, installing, or using the QS Transfer App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. USE OF THE APP

The QS Transfer App is provided to facilitate local, peer-to-peer data and file transfers via QR codes and audio signals. You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You are solely responsible for the content, files, or data you transfer using the App.

3. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation of the App. We do not guarantee that file transfers will be successful or secure against third-party interception, as transfers occur via visual (QR) and audible (sound) mediums that can be observed in your immediate physical environment.

4. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer(s) of the QS Transfer App and toolpad.cc shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to data loss, unauthorized access to transferred data, or device malfunction.

5. CHANGES TO TERMS

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document.
